5 website tips to help you make more money in 2022!

Everyday, I get an email with potential opportunities for web design and development work. Interested by a particular post I decided to check out the business, and you know what? There were so many issues on their website that it just put me off.
When their own website was a disaster, how could anyone pay them to create one for them?!
Then I started to think about all the ways we’re losing our website browsers trust and money when we do or don’t do things.
So, here are a few actions you can take right now to keep your browsers happy and increase revenue in 2022:
- Check your links
Broken links on your website can frustrate your browsers and lead them to question if you know your stuff. In addition to this, broken links can significantly hurt your Search Engine Optimisation rankings.
In essence, a broken link or a dead link is a link on your website that doesn’t work or that leads to the wrong page. Usually, broken links occur when pages are deleted, moved, or simply because a typo error went unnoticed.
Either way, it’s always good to keep on top of your links and fix them as soon as they occur.
SEMRush and Broken Link Checker Plugin are both great resources to help you check your links.
- Review your website on ALL devices
Here’s a question, how many times do you reach for your phone in a day to find the answer to something?! I’ll bet, if you are like me, it’s loads!
It makes sense as a business owner that your website looks good on every possible device because your next potential customer might turn to it whenever he needs an answer!
My favourite mobile responsive test tool is responsivetesttool.com– you can use it to review what your website looks like on a variety of devices.
- Check your website load time
A website that loads really slowly is another thing that can REALLY frustrate your browsers. As things like Instagram Stories have grown in popularity, our attention spans have dropped significantly, so you now have even less time to grab your browser’s attention and make them stay on your website.
If your website is slow, users may leave it before it even loads.
One of my biggest tips for reducing load time is to optimise your images correctly. Check out one of my new YouTube videos if you’re not sure how to do this.
- Update your website
Your website is your no. 1 marketing tool so if it’s not up to date, you might be giving off the wrong message to potential customers.
As your business grows, so should your website, which is why I like to empower business owners to be able to change and update their own website.

Does the pricing reflect your recent New Year increase?
- Test your contact form
I wonder how much money business owners I’ve contacted have lost over the years because their contact form was broken.
There’s usually two scenarios. One is that the form is completely broken, you click submit and you get an error, and the other is you click send and it goes to the wrong email address or you don’t receive it.
Be sure to review your contact form often to ensure it’s going through and getting delivered to the RIGHT email address.
If you aren’t receiving emails from your website, it might be worth installing and setting up WP Mail SMTP Plugin.
And that’s it, 5 simple tips that could potentially help you earn more cha-ching in 2022!
If you’re struggling with any of the above, then I’d love to help. You can now schedule a tailored 1 hour private consultation with me where we will discuss your specific concerns. Head to my contact form to get in touch.
